2022 Changes and the Future of our Guild

The Midwest Writers Guild of Evansville, Indiana moves forward into the new year. 2022 will see many changes, including a changing of the guard in terms of our officers, a new location and added activities.

Thank you to the owners of Your Brothers Bookstore, who's location has already hosted multiple meetings of the guild. In fact our new vice president is none other than one of the owners, Adam Morris. We look forward to his contributions and insight.

Re-elected to his fourth year as president, Tim Heerdink guided us through some very difficult times, including both world events and his own personal strife. His vision for the future involves increasing the footprint of the guild in the wider community and more philanthropic endeavors.

Don Brooks will continue to be our treasurer in 2022. His trustworthiness and diligence cannot be understated. We look forward to his ongoing dedication to his position and keeping the financial side of the guild in check.

Lauren McDaniel will step in as our new secretary. Her experience in this field will undoubtedly contribute greatly to the guild. We hope her nothing but the best for her in this coming year.

The Midwest Writers Guild EVV created a new position in its final meeting of 2021. The former vice president felt quite overwhelmed by the duties that were somewhat of his own creation.* So with that in mind, the guild unanimously added a new webmaster position to the officers.

Susie Cooley will serve as our first webmaster! Her background in this field as well as social media will help propel the guild to new heights. Thanks so much for taking on this position.

More information about our upcoming events will be posted here or on the official Facebook page . Let's make 2022 the best year for the guild yet. Hope to see you at the next meeting!

*It's Jake Harris, outgoing VP. I can blame myself for adding duties to my own job and biting off more than I can chew. It's okay, I promise. :)
